We are in a small town named Arco in rural area. We plan on hiking in the Craters of the Moon National Park tomorrow before we head out Monday to Yellowstone. We have all been amazed at the desert like area in Idaho. Most of the land requires irrigation to use and the areas we have seen are not very populated. Although it is beautiful, it is just not what I expected it to look like. We traveled today thru a large area that is all volcanic. Very unusual, but more about it tomorrow. We climbed in altitude most of the day and got to see some great views. After getting to campground we went out into the little town to try out a local eatery. It was very good and we also learned this was the first town in the US to have a nuclear power plant (1961). After supper we came back and went to ice cream social the campground was hosting, but the highlight of the evening was this wild guy who decided to serenade us. Best laugh I had in a long time. Last time we saw him he was running around the building with his guitar to find his friend that had left him possibly taking his motorcycle! What a hoot. Here are todays pics

Our entertainment at the campground, just the campground hadn't planned it.
Every senior class since 1920 has painted their graduating year on these rocks above town.
