Day 63 & 64 Whitehorse

Although we have tried to follow different routes during our travels, the lack of roadways sometimes require us to pass thru the same places to make connects. Today we are back in Whitehorse, which we came thru on our way up the Alaska Highway. We didn't spend any time here on our first trip we decided to take in some local sights for a day or two before heading to Skagway, Alaska on Wednesday. We had a beautiful drive today and had to stop a few times for photos. We got setup in time to still see a few sights including a beautiful log church. Last night we stopped at Carmacks to rest before heading on to Whitehorse today. Here are my pics from yesterday and today (wifi at visitor center is blog saver!)

There were many lakes between Carmacks and Whitehorse.

The first Anglican Church in the Yukon

This painting was done by US soldier stationed in area to work on Alaskan Highway. He did it in appreciation of the church allowing different denominations to use the church for their services. He was from Michigan.  Only one of two original buildings still temaining in original spot. Had an great tour guide trlling us history of this church.
