Day 72 Cassiar Highway & Beyond

After staying last night in Stewart we headed back up 37A to get back on the Cassiar Hwy toward Prince George. As we head south it seems like the road keeps improving, which we are thankful. More beautiful lakes and mountains but as the day progressed the mountains seem to open up to more valleys. We even saw several farms with hayfields and cattle. There were several small towns and First Nation Villages along the way. We even saw one grizzly bear off in a field, which made my day.  We are staying at a lakeside Provincial Campground tonight, which is like our state parks. We should make it into Prince George early tomorrow as we are less than 80 miles.  Here are todays pics. Sorry no bear pic, couldn't pull off and was moving too quick.
Glacier run off stream

Avalanche sign the small sign at bottom reads year round

This is ice from avalanche. This was a huge amount right near the road. Not sure when it came down

Another pic of avalanche ice

This is a glacier right down beside road. It was on other side of glacier water that had made a lake. Just a few years ago this glacier covered what is now the road

Another pic of glacier
