Something that has amazed us all is the extreme ever changing landscape in both Canada and Alaska. When you think you have seen it all, we were shocked yet again. I know I have said over and over that the waterways are the most beautiful I have ever seen and that is true, we have seen mountains and valleys, thick forest and snow capped mountains and tons of glaciers. Well on this trip down this 80 mile road we have seen farmlike land, forest, mountains, lakes and rivers, glaciers, the worlds smallest desert (yes, a desert) and the strangest landscape yet they call moonscape. If you ever imagined what the surface of the moon is like, this would be it. Now remember this is all on about 80 miles. Also, in the over 7000 miles we have traveled so far, we have experienced the steepest longest descent/ascent so far! Here are some sites from this road.

I forgot this earlier here is the port at Skagway, you can see cruise ship that came in this morning. Also note the huge glacier upon the mountain. They take tours by helicopter to it.
Moonscape
The worlds smallest desert (a dried up glacier lake). Pretty awesome seeing spruce trees in sand!
We made it to the continental divide today and have been back on the Alaskan highway most of the day. Tomorrow we will turn south onto the Cassiar Highway just a few miles from here. This is a new area we have not covered, and will take us thru British Columbia. With no changes or detours in about 1500 miles we should be in Washington State.
