Day 66 Skagway

We decided we could not leave Alaska without taking a train ride. We were about 80 miles from Skagway the home depot town of the White Pass Railroad. It is a restored railway that follows the original tracks from over 100 yrs ago. It went high into the mountains for a unbelievable view of the area including glaciers and the harbor. We were so glad we decided to make this our most likely last stop in this state.  My pics aren't to great from my phone but it was really something to see. Here a few pics from the ride.

The tracks are only 36 inches wide and many areas were very tight for the trsin to pass between mountain and edge.

Going thru one of two tunnels

The original bridge which was replaced when started hauling heavy loads of equipment to mines

This is the official US and Canadian border
