Day 9 Black Hills

What a busy and great day we have had. We started off going to the Crazy Horse monument and museum. This is the best private funded/operated site I have ever been too.  The memorabilia filled numerous buildings and was beautifully displayed.  These displays exhibited the proud and gifted native Americans heritage and talents.  What we initially planned to be a brief visit turned into several hours and could have easily stayed the entire day. Another must see in my opinion. Here are a few pics from the museum and monument.

After leaving Crazy Horse monument we headed to the Custer State Park. It had a scenic ride thru the park going thru the Black Hills and grassland. We got to see many large herds of Bison some with new calves that were so cute and prong horns, deers and wild donkeys. It was great seeing these beautiful animals thriving on the land. Here are pics from our ride.

Now we set off to see Mt Rushmore. You know when you see this marvelous monument why it is one of our great National Parks. Here are some pics, the sun wasn't at its best for pictures but here they are.
