Day 21 Ft Nelson and beyond
Our first stop today was at Ft Nelson. We fueled up and went to the Visitors Center. We have found the Visitors Center to be great stops for information and much needed wifi. You really miss not having phone and cell service when its not available. We checked on both and it was ridiculously expensive and had very limited service because of the remoteness. So for now we rely on hotspots when we find them and fortunately our Onstar phone works some. Hopefully we will get connected a little better in Alaska, but not counted on much. Well i must give a big shout out for this awesome museum we went to in Ft Nelson. Any historical item that was ever used in the developement of the area and Alaskan Highway was there. Plus many old sites had been moved to this location. You could spend all day there and the 84 year old gentleman who got it all started was there telling you the history of everything. He is a national treasure in himself! What a great time we had there. After enjoying our time at the Heritage museum we were back to the Alcan Highway. We saw beautiful sites and traveled up and down lots of serious mountain grades. Wow what some views. We finally started down the mountain after some road construction and found a nice little roadside park that had been deserted. We are loving it. Views of snow covered mountains and crystal clear blue glacier stream at our door. Here are my pics for the day.
