Day 25

We did not make it to Beaver Creek as first thought. Again, today we had bad weather all day, rain and some snow mixed with occasional wind made for slow travel. On top of that we hit even worse road conditions than even yesterday. I do not know how many miles we traveled at speeds less than 10 mph. Luckily we had some awesome views traveling thru the mountain ranges that contain Canada's highest peak. Even with the snow rain and mountain fog the views were breathtakingly beautiful. We also had the opportunity to stop by a great visitors center in Haines Junction. They had wonderful displays and told the history of the natives who have lived here hundreds of years. It was a very informative place with awesome views of the mountain range as a bonus. Second we stopped by a museum in a tiny town with population of 55 named Burwash Landing, not expecting to find much inside this old painted log building we were once again happily shocked. It was a great museum of all the area wildlife. They had displays of the animals, their history, impressions of their tracks so you could recognize them and even some pieces of their hair to feel. We had a great time viewing this fairly large place with even a small viewing area with a movie about the building of the Alaskan highway. The building was beautiful  inside and the $4 was well spent. Check out the largest lake it was very choppy due to high winds around it that even kicked up a sandstorm. Here are todays pics. Btw, those are swans with ducks that come every summer to the lake
