Day 36 Kenai Peninsula
After a nice rest in Wasilla, which was shockingly a modern city with most chain stores we had seen in a while, we headed to the Kenai. We came thru Anchorage, which being the largest city, is very crowded. We plan on making a stop there on our trip back thru. Okay about our trip today, we have found the alaskan paradise! We have seen some great sights in Alaska already, but on a our brief rain soaked travels today i can tell you this area is GORGEOUS!! The only road down this 200 mi peninsula is a 2 lane road that follows the sound with great water views and snow capped mountains on the other side and in the distance from the water. It goes for miles along this waterway. Breathtaking sites that I cannot wait to see on a sunny day. We took our time enjoying the view we got tired and hungry so we decided to find us a nice spot for the night instead of going on to Soldotna as we first planned. Other than cool and wet its been a great travel day. Looking forward to getting a lot of great photos from this area. Here are a couple from today. Check out our awesome free camping spot for the night.
