We left Billings heading to Wyoming, but not long into trip we saw the signs about Little Big Horn Battlefield and could not pass it up. This is a historic site that is well maintained. The Custer National Cemetery is the first thing you see. Like all National cemeteries I have experienced it is beautifully laid out and there are booklets available to give you information about some buried there. After walking thru cemetery we went into visitors center, which had a museum. There were some believed to be original pieces plus numerous replicas. I enjoyed the informative movie they played giving the history of the battle. This is great for those of us who have been out of school too long and may not have paid too close attention even then! Upon the hill looking over the battlefield was a awesome native American memorial. They have such appreciation for the land. Had it not been 98 degrees we could have spent all day looking around, but after a couple hours we hit the road. We set our destination for Casper Wyoming. Here are our pics from today.
